FACTIONS OF THE INTERPLANETARY ANTHROPOCENE

Ever since the Space Rush, Sol has been divided into 4 major camps, and a variety of lesser neutrals scattered between them.

FIFTH INTERNATIONAL

The Fifth International, formerly known as the Eurasian Collective Security Accord, is an intercontinental socialist military and trade alliance established on January 6th, 1991, originally established as a collective security framework between the FSSR, the Artsakh Republic, Armenia, Mongolia, and Afghanistan. Starting out as a replacement for the Warsaw Pact, the Fifth International has far superseded it in sheer scale and power. The Fifth International may say that it follows the socialist ideologies it claims to represent, but in all reality, this Internationale is simply imperialism with a weathering red coat of paint, just like its predecessor.

PACIFIC DEFENSE ACCORD

The Pacific Defense Accord (PDA) is an international trade organization and military alliance founded by liberal democracies whose coasts border the Pacific Ocean and the seas that surround it. The PDA was founded after the Second American Civil War, with the first members of the alliance signing on at the Pacific Stability Conferences in La Paz, California in 2005; some of its founding members were American breakaways. Throughout the 21st century, the Accord grew beyond the Pacific, into Africa, the Middle East, Southern and Southeast Asia, Europe, and beyond, becoming a powerful force in the Solar System.

FEDERATION OF EARTH

The Federation of Earth, also known as “The Federation,” is an intercontinental state located (in one way or another) on every continent on Earth that was founded on the 28th of February, 2033. Built on social darwinist ideas of wealth accumulation-based genetic superiority, the Federation seeks to use any non-nuclear weapon tools available to it to slowly make a clean slate of planet Earth for their wealthy oligarchic ruling class, devoid of the "lesser" peoples, even if it means severely sabotaging the Earth's climate.

CORPORATE TRIAD

The Corporate Triad is an informal alliance between New Biotechnologies of California (NEUBIOCAL), Konigsberg Raumwerke (KRW), and Konigsberg Robotik der Hohenzollern (KRHZ). Not founded on any particular date, this alliance of megacorporations seeks to spectate and capitalize on the three-way cold war between the Pacific Defense Accord, Fifth International, and Federation of Earth, selling their products to every side. The sheer power of Konigsberg Raumwerke alone enables the alliance to project power and influence in the outer solar system to great extents, often being able to dictate what corporation or kombinat gets what land beyond the Asteroid Belt, but being powerless in the face of the expansion of the three earthly powers they sell to.
